Clarksville Academy baseball coach Dustin Smith has resigned to take the same position at Christian County High School in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.
Smith coached the Cougars for seven seasons, during which he won 147 games and three TSSAA baseball region championships. He was named the Leaf-Chronicle Coach of the Year in 2025 after leading Clarksville Academy to a 30-12 record and a Division II-A state runner-up finish.

A former player at Northeast and Austin Peay, Smith played professional baseball in the Detroit Tigers' minor league system before beginning his coaching career at his high school alma mater in 2006. He resigned after guiding the Eagles to a region championship in 2017 and spent two years as an assistant at CA under Jake Peterson before taking over the program himself.
The Cougars went 11-19 this season and were eliminated in the first round of the DII-A Middle Region tournament.
Christian County High School will open this fall after the county consolidated the old Christian County High School and Hopkinsville High School.
