Clemson sees massive jump in USA TODAY Sports Baseball Coaches Poll
· Yahoo Sports
Clemson baseball's 7-0 start has the Tigers already moving up the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll after two weeks.
Clemson rose six spots to No. 11 in Monday's new Coaches Poll, the first to be released since the preseason poll back on Feb. 2. The Tigers are ranked one spot below the No. 10 Florida Gators (7-1) and one spot above the No. 12 Southern Miss Golden Eagles (6-1).

Clemson's six-spot surge in the poll is the second-biggest jump for any team that was ranked in the preseason poll. Only Southern Miss, and previously unranked Texas A&M (No. 22, 7-0) and Oklahoma (No. 14, 7-0), saw bigger jumps in Monday's poll.
The top four teams remained the same. Defending national champion LSU (8-0) stayed at No. 1, followed by UCLA (5-1) at No. 2, Texas (7-0) at No. 3, and Georgia Tech (8-0) at No. 4.
Clemson improved to 7-0 with Sunday's 7-5 win over Bryant at Doug Kingsmore Stadium. The Tigers have swept both Bryant and Army West Point in weekend series, and they defeated Charlotte 11-1 in their first midweek game on Tuesday.
Through their first seven games, Clemson has outscored its opponents 52-14. The Tigers are batting .345 as a team with 12 home runs and 13 doubles. Luke Gaffney leads the Tigers in hitting with a .500 average (12-for-24). Jacob Jarrell has four home runs, and transfer outfielder Nate Savoie and Tryston McCladdie have three apiece.
Clemson pitchers, including ace right-hander Aidan Knaak (0.00 ERA, 8 IP) have combined for a 1.35 ERA in 60 innings, striking out 77 batters while allowing 15 walks.
