The Arizona Cardinals have many roster decisions to make before then.

Leading up to the new league year, we will profile every player on the roster, go over what they did last season, what their contract status is and what they face in 2026.

Next up is offensive lineman Paris Johnson.

Paris Johnson 2025 season

Johnson had his season cut short for the second straight season. After playing every snap as a rookie in 2023 and starting 14 games in 2024 before a knee injury ended his season, he played in 12 games last year, suffering a knee injury that again ended his year.

He was very good at left tackle in 2025 and was playing at a near Pro Bowl level.

Paris Johnson contract status

Johnson enters Year 3 of his rookie contract. He will make $4.6 million in 2025 and will count $8.9 million against the salary cap.

The Cardinals have until May 1 to decide whether or not to exercise his fifth-year team option for 2026. That would pay him more than $19 million in 2026.

He is eligible for a contract extension, and it sounds like general manager Monti Ossenfort wants to keep him long-term, but it doesn't appear to be a priority yet, especially since they will likely exercise the option and he will be under contract through 2027.

Paris Johnson offseason outlook

Johnson needs to get healthy, and based on the initial timeline, he probably is and should be ready for the offseason program in April.

He will be the Cardinals' starting left tackle this coming season and will protect some starting quarterback, whoever that will end up being. The only question to answer is whether or not there will be contract talks.
