For weeks now, the Houston Texans have been linked to Notre Dame running back Jadarian Price as an option to bolster their run game following a disappointing campaign from runners not named Woody Marks.

Now, it's looking like the AFC South franchise could be going all-in on the secondary runner from South Bend as their top target on Day 2.
During his media availability at the NFL Scouting Combine, Price told reporters that the Texans were among the teams he had several formal meetings with across Indianapolis. When asked specifically about Houston, he said the interaction was among the better of the interviews.
Perhaps the second-most complete back behind Fighting Irish counterpart Jeremiyah Love, Price is one of this year's top-rated running back prospects. Given the need for running backs and limited success outside of Love, the junior speeder is projected to be a day two pick in this year's draft and could potentially find his way into first round coversations with an impressive showing during drills on Saturday.

Houston plans on upgrading its rushing attack this offseason. Pro Bowler Joe Mixon appears to be on his way out of the door after missing all of last season with a foot injury, while Nick Chubb and Dare Ogunbowale are free agents. Marks was promising as a first-year starter, totaling a team-leading 703 rushing yards, but he's better suited splitting carries as part of a 1-2 punch rather than taking over as the three-down back.
Enter Price, who last season totaled 113 carries for 674 yards while scoring a career-high 13 touchdowns. He also averaged 6.0 yards per carry over his career while averaging 11 carries per game.
Ideally, Houston would love to target either an offensive lineman or a defensive tackle at pick No. 28 to close out Round 1 and take Price in Round 2. He should be in range since the Texans have selections at No. 38 and No. 59 overall, though given his workout numbers, Price could only be in play at No. 28.

Time will tell if the Texans can land the Notre Dame star runner, but he certainly has become a top name to monitor.
