Indiana men’s basketball has entered March on the NCAA Tournament bubble for the second year in a row. The Hoosiers haven’t gone to the big dance since the 2022-23 season.
It’s been a decade since the program last reached the Sweet Sixteen and well over that since it advanced any further. It wouldn’t be an understatement to call the past quarter century one of if not the most results-starved periods in Indiana’s history. Coaches trying to lead the Hoosiers back to consistent tournament contention, let alone national relevance, have come and gone. Fans have grown impatient of constant program rebuilds as the spectre of apathy has loomed over Assembly Hall in the past few seasons.

The latest coach to launch such a rebuild is Darian DeVries, whose entirely new year one roster has seen its share of ups and downs. Which, to be fair, is exactly what the season was predicted to be by many.

This is a pretty mixed bag! This survey was run during the past week and Indiana lost to Northwestern right in the middle of it, so that probably had a biiit of an effect. Not for nothing that “very confident” is at the bottom.
Fans are feeling pretty ambivalent right now and that’s fair. We’ll see what changes this afternoon against Michigan State.
