Alexander Nübel expected to start for Germany vs. Ghana

According to a report from Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg and Kerry Hau, Bayern Munich loanee Alexander Nübel will start for the German national team vs. Ghana on Monday:

🚨🆕 If everything goes according to plan, Alexander #Nübel will start on Monday in Stuttgart against Ghana. Julian Nagelsmann and Andreas Kronenberg want to reward him for his performances at VfB and in training with the German national team.

Nübel has had a nice campaign for VfB Stuttgart, but it does raise the thought it Jonas Urbig might have been in line to get a look in between the sticks had he not left camp with an injury. Only Nagelsmann and his staff know the answer to that question, but it might not have been out of the realm of possibility.
