CRS conducted Inspection and Speed Trial on the newly laid 3rd & 4th Line between Baiyyappanahalli and Bengaluru Cantonment

The Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS), Northeast Frontier Circle, Kolkata, Sumeet Singhal, conducted a statutory inspection and speed trial on the newly laid 3rd and 4th lines between Baiyyappanahalli West Cabin (BYPW) and Bengaluru Cantonment (BNC) (4.928 KM), including Bengaluru East Halt station, on 31.03.2026 and 01.04.2026.

The quadrupling between Bengaluru Cantonment and Baiyyappanahalli West Cabin is a part of the Bengaluru Cantonment–Whitefield Quadrupling Project intended to meet the growing demand for passenger and freight traffic and to ease congestion in the Bengaluru area. The Bengaluru Cantonment- Baiyyappanahalli West Cabin section comprises 4 major bridges (all Road Under Bridges), 3 minor bridges (Nos. 836, 838 & 841), 3 Road Over Bridges (ROBs), 7 Road Under Bridges (RUBs), and 3 Foot Over Bridges (FOBs).

Chief Administrative Officer (Construction)/RSP, South Western Railway B. Rama Mohana Reddy; Divisional Railway Manager Ashutosh Kumar Singh; Additional Divisional Railway Manager Praveen Kataraki and Chief Project Manager, Gati Shakti Unit, Gul Ashfaque Mohammad, along with other senior railway officials, were present during the inspection.
