Now, they’re waiving depth at the same spot.

The Bengals announced on Tuesday that they waived center Matt Lee.

It’s a curious time for the Bengals to let go of more interior offensive line depth. It leaves the depth chart behind center Ted Karras barren, with Jalen Rivers as one of the only notable backup guards right now.

A seventh-round pick by the Bengals in 2024, Lee was a popular fan favorite as a guy who could possibly develop into a starter down the road. Last year, he suffered a knee injury in Week 8 and went to injured reserve.

At this point, backup interior linemen could be a focus of the draft for the Bengals.
