MM 4.8: Maryland men’s basketball alum Jahmir Young earns All-G League second team honors

While his career as an NBA player has not progressed as exponentially as he and many Terps fans would have hoped, former Maryland men’s basketball guard Jahmir Young has carved out a spot for himself in the G League with the Sioux Falls Skyforce.

Young’s consistent performances were honored with an all-G League second team recognition Tuesday.

The former Terp averaged 26 points, 8.9 assists, and 4.6 rebounds while playing an average of 38.1 minutes across 25 games with the Skyforce. He had the second-highest points per game and fifth-highest assists per game of any player in the G League.

Young currently holds the record for most consecutive 20-point games for the Skyforce, having accomplished the feat 18 consecutive times.

Young has also featured in 11 games for the Miami Heat this season, totaling 51 minutes and 20 points over that span. He’ll look to earn more attention from them when he features in the NBA Summer League, which will begin on July 9.
