In this Rate My Team (RMT) article, I will take a personal look at my team heading into the matchday, breaking down the squad position by position and assessing how well set I am for tonight’s fixtures.

UCL Matchday 14 Team

Heading into Matchday 14, I had three free transfers, and I used one of them to bring in PSG goalkeeper Matvey Safonov.

In goal, I am backing Safonov as PSG travel to Anfield. They come into this game with a 2-0 lead from the first leg, where Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Désiré Doué scored the goals.

However, a clean sheet at Anfield is never guaranteed. Liverpool are strong in Europe and can create many chances at home. Safonov may need to depend on save points if PSG are put under pressure. This means even if he concedes goals, he can still return fantasy points if he makes a lot of saves during the game.

My backline feels like a mix of London strength and Paris coverage in my team. Gabriel Magalhaes is still my most reliable pick, as Arsenal defend a narrow 1-0 lead against Sporting CP at the Emirates.

I’ve also doubled up on the PSG defence with Achraf Hakimi and William Pacho, which is a risky but high-reward move for the Tuesday fixtures. If PSG can keep things tight at Anfield, it could bring in big points. However, one Liverpool goal could really hurt my defensive returns and reduce my overall points from the backline.

This matchday setup is focused on attack, with several teams expected to go all out for goals. Lamine Yamal and Fermin Lopez are key Barcelona picks, with Barcelona trailing 2-0 after a shock home defeat to Atlético Madrid. They are expected to start aggressively as they try to turn the tie around.

I’m still not fully confident in Lopez, but he’s in my team for now. I’ll keep an eye on him before the deadline and decide if I keep or replace him.

Ademola Lookman is also in my team and offers a strong threat in transition. He could take advantage of the space Atlético Madrid leave as they push forward.

Kvaratskhelia completes the midfield and remains a big danger for PSG after his brilliant solo goal in the first leg. Even with PSG looking to control the tie, he should still get chances on the counter.

Up front, I’ve a strong trio of European players. Harry Kane returns to the Allianz Arena with a 2-1 lead and a first-leg goal, and I am backing him as a key option for a captaincy switch on Wednesday.

Alongside him is Kylian Mbappe, who remains my main hope for Real Madrid. Even though they are behind, he’s always the most likely player to change a game in a big moment.

To complete my attack, I’m sticking with Julian Alvarez, who I’ve given the armband tonight. He scored in the first leg and continues to be an important player for Atletico Madrid.

Bench

My bench gives me good cover with David Raya as backup for Safonov, while Michael Olise and Josip Stanisic provide Bayern options for Wednesday, but the main concern is D. Hancko, who is injured and still in the squad for now, with a possible use of one of my 3 free transfers before the deadline.

What do you think of my team for Matchday 14? Would you make any changes before the deadline? I’d like to hear your thoughts, so feel free to drop a comment and let’s discuss.
