Camouflaged trail camera found in Milton
Cops in Halton have issued a public warning following the discovery of a camouflaged trail camera in a Milton neighbourhood.
Halton Regional Police said officers attended a residence on April 16 after a homeowner found a trail camera and battery pack wrapped in camouflage tape and concealed in shrubs. Cops said the camera was pointed toward neighbouring homes.
Police said this is a known tactic used by criminals involved in residential break-and-enters. The cameras are used to conduct surveillance on target residences to determine occupancy patterns and identify opportunities to commit offences when homes are vacant.
Residents are being asked to routinely check their properties, particularly during spring cleanup. If a device is found, do not touch it, but contact police, who will safely collect the device.
