Latest 2026 NFL draft intel comes with promising news for Colts

The latest NFL draft intel from ESPN's Dan Graziano could be good news for the Indianapolis Colts, who are without a first-round pick.
Based on what he's heard from around the NFL, Graziano is predicting that 7 to 10 offensive linemen could get picked in the first round.

"There's a late-round zone loaded with teams that would love to come out of Thursday night with a new offensive lineman, including the Lions, Panthers, Steelers, Chargers, Eagles, Browns, Bears, 49ers, Chiefs and Patriots," Graziano wrote. "Kansas City could even use its No. 9 pick on an offensive tackle and no one would be surprised. Baltimore could take Ioane at No. 14, if he's there."
So, how does this impact the Colts?
Adding depth and competition to the offensive line unit should be on GM Chris Ballard's radar. However, that is likely not a need that he plans to address at pick No. 47 -- the Colts' first selection.
That said, if numerous other teams are prioritizing the trenches and picking offensive linemen, that then pushes down prospects at other position groups, perhaps like linebacker or defensive end -- two of the more pressing needs that the Colts have.
A run on offensive linemen in Round 1 won't guarantee that the Colts get a steal at pick 47 -- that is still a good amount of time to wait on Day 2 before Indianapolis is on the clock. However, nearly one-third of the potential picks in Round 1 being at a position that isn't a huge need for the Colts isn't a bad thing either, and could help position Indianapolis well on Day 2.
