2026 NFL Draft: Miami Hurricanes WR CJ Daniels Selected with the 197th Pick by the Los Angeles Rams

· Yahoo Sports

The Miami Hurricanes added another name in the 2026 NFL Draft.  WR CJ Daniels was selected with the 197th overall pick in the sixth round of the draft by the Los Angeles Rams  He joins another Cane, Kam Kinchens. LA traded up to the Eagles to snag Daniels.

Daniels began his college career at Liberty playing alongside QB Malik Willis and WR Demario Douglas, where he showed enough to attract Power Five interest before transferring to WRU LSU – where lingering foot and knee injuries wiped out his opportunity and derailed what could have been an early draft projection.  Rather than give up, he transferred once more to Miami and came back in 2025 with 50 catches, 557 yards, and seven touchdowns, producing immediately on a national championship contender and silencing doubters with the iconic week one catch at the end of the first half of the Notre Dame matchup.

At 6’2″ and 200 pounds, he has the frame and ball skills of a legitimate X-receiver.  Daniels is not the fastest prospect but is a technically precise possession receiver with size and toughness. This pick was coming. The only question was when.

Daniels has an interesting opportunity to takeover in a place of need with the Rams and learn from veterans such as Davante Adams and Puka Nacua.

Congrats, CJ, and make more magic with the Rams.
