The window to enter the transfer portal is closed, but players can still commit to new schools. The Iowa Hawkeyes, a team with serious momentum ahead of the 2026-27 college basketball season, have been playing in the portal, adding a few key contributors.

Highlighted by the addition of big man Andrew McKeever and head coach Ben McCollum's new point guard, Ty'Reek Coleman, the Hawkeyes have bolstered a roster that lost some pieces to eligibility expiring and others transferring out, such as March Madness hero, Alvaro Folguieras.
Still, Iowa remains a team to be on the watch for next season. While ESPN bracketologist Joe Lunardi isn't as high on Iowa, putting them as his "last team in" the field of 68 next year, ESPN's Jeff Borzello is higher on the Hawkeyes.
While Iowa is not ranked in his latest top 25 rankings, he has the Hawkeyes as the first team outside of the rankings looking in, coming in at No. 26.
At the top of the rankings are your usual suspects, who have reloaded during this transfer portal cycle or retained top talent. Florida, the team Iowa stunned to advance to the Sweet 16, comes in at No. 1 with a fully loaded roster of returning talent.
The rest of the top five is rounded out by No. 2 Duke, No. 3 Michigan, the defending champions, No. 4 Illinois, and No. 5 UConn, the runner-up in this year's NCAA Tournament.
