Influencer Griffin Johnson is back at the Kentucky Derby after co-owning Sandman to a seventh-place finish in last year's Run for the Roses.
Johnson is affiliated with trainer Mark Casse and the Team Casse horse racing group. The relationship began in 2024 with Johnson joining the "A Stake in Stardom" program, which offered him a minority ownership in Sandman in exchange for publicity.

This year, Johnson is supporting Counting Stars and Search Party in the Kentucky Derby. Team Casse initially had Silent Tactic in the field as well, but the horse was scratched due to a bruised foot.
Counting Stars and Search Party have 8-1 and 30-1 morning-line odds, respectively.
Unfortunate news, Silent Tactic will be scratching from the Kentucky Derby for the Casse Team.. Time to shift focus to Counting Stars & Search Party. Horses come first!! 🐎💨 pic.twitter.com/K51GhbzurA
