Texas State DL Devarrick Woods sets up official visit to Florida

· Yahoo Sports

Texas State defensive lineman Devarrick Woods will take an official visit to Florida on Monday, according to Swamp247.

Woods was granted an extra year of eligibility by the NCAA a week ago, and he's been lining up visits since then. He stopped by Colorado and North Carolina State and is currently in Tallahassee to see the Florida State Seminoles.

Woods spent two years at Hinds Community College before making the jump to Division I as the No. 86-ranked JUCO prospect in the 2025 class. At Texas State, he amassed 16 total tackles, including two tackles for a loss, one sack and a quarterback hurry. Pro Football Focus gave him a 74.2 overall grade on defense, a 78.8 run-defense grade, an 80.9 tackling grade, a 66.3 pass-rush grade and a 73.4 coverage grade over 177 total snaps.

Florida has plenty of talent at the defensive line position, with returners Kamran James and LJ McCray leading the room. Brendan Bett, Jamari Lyons, Joseph Mbatchou and Jeramiah McCloud are also back. The Gators added Mason Clinton (Souther Miss), DK Kalu (Baylor) and Emmanuel Oyebadejo (Jacksonville State) via the transfer portal. JaReylan McCoy and Kendall Guervil are the incoming true freshmen, and Jalen Wiggins is a redshirt freshman.

Despite having so many players in the position room, Florida is looking to add game-ready talent to boost competition among the veteran players. Woods fits the bill perfectly.
