What Bryson DeChambeau has told Scott O’Neil about his future with LIV Golf

Bryson DeChambeau’s future with LIV Golf is very much up in the air right now.

DeChambeau was one of the biggest names in the game when he left the PGA Tour to join LIV Golf in 2022.
However, the 32-year-old has become arguably the biggest golf star on the planet over the past few years.
Bryson DeChambeau is one of the few players to have actually improved as a player since moving to LIV Golf.
The man from Dallas, Texas, has won a major championship since he left the PGA Tour, and he has five LIV Golf wins to his name.

If LIV Golf does cease to exist, the PGA Tour would want Bryson DeChambeau back competing regularly.
It was actually claimed back in April that DeChambeau made contact with PGA Tour officials during Masters week at Augusta National.
What Bryson DeChambeau told Scott O’Neil about his LIV Golf future
Interestingly, DeChambeau has been more open about the possibility rejoining the PGA Tour recently.
And crucially, the PGA Tour are actually set to change their rules and regulations around content creation – something that will obviously affect DeChambeau if he does decide to return.
However, does DeChambeau really want to return to the PGA Tour? Or is he desperate to make things work?
Golf.com spoke to LIV CEO Scott O’Neil about the future of the league and DeChambeau’s current situation.
He was first asked to provide an update on DeChambeau’s contract talks.

“His happens to get quite a bit of attention. Bryson is an extraordinary partner. He is the most popular golfer on the planet.
“He’s winning. He loves team golf. He believes in the vision of LIV. He’s willing to travel around the world, grow the game. And of all the athletes I’ve worked with in my career — and there’ve been a lot of them, from a lot of different sports — he’s the most pure to the mission of an athlete I’ve ever met.
“And Bryson has asked to sit side by side with me and Ducera [LIV’s investment bank] to raise money together.“
DeChambeau’s current contract with LIV Golf is set to expire at the end of the 2026 season, so it’s easy to see why golf fans and journalists are speculating so much about where he will be playing his golf next season.
Bryson DeChambeau is more ‘pro-LIV’ than Scott O’Neil
O’Neil was asked whether potential investors are asking him whether DeChambeau will be playing on LIV Golf from the start of 2027 onwards.
“Bryson is more pro-LIV than I am,“ he said.
“We talked yesterday [Tuesday] about him joining me for the investor meetings, so I think that’ll be a pretty good indication as to what’s going to transpire.
“He’s really smart. He’s very intuitive. He’s as good a brand builder as I’ve ever seen. From a marketing standpoint, his creativity almost knows no bounds, surrounds himself with good people, and has a real strong opinion as to how we should go forward together.
“So he’s very well in the plans, and he’ll be joining me on a lot of investor pitches.“
The fact of the matter is that Scott O’Neil can say all he wants about Bryson DeChambeau’s love for LIV Golf, but as long as he doesn’t commit to a new contract, there will always be speculation surrounding his future.
