The Jayhawks will host the first meeting in Allen Fieldhouse on Nov. 27, 2026. Then, they’ll meet up again in November 2027 on a to-be-determined date at Villanova. The last time these two programs played was in 2022, during the Final Four, as KU went on to win a national championship.
“We’ve had a lot of great games against Villanova, including some on the biggest stage,” Kansas coach Bill Self said. “These games will be great to prepare our guys for Big 12 play, and they will be exciting for our fans.”
The Jayhawks are coming off a season in which they finished 24-11 overall, reached the semifinals of the Big 12 Conference tournament and the round of 32 of the NCAA tournament. They’ll feature a largely new-look roster, with the class of 2026 No. 1 high school recruit — according to 247Sports — in Tyran Stokes. Self and company will be looking to reach the second weekend of the NCAA tournament for the first time since that national title run in 2022.
Kansas and Villanova are tied up at 5-5 in their all-time series. The Wildcats will have a new head coach this time around, though, in Kevin Willard. Willard led Villanova to the round of 64 of the NCAA tournament in his first season in charge, after previously serving as the head coach at Maryland.
