Hallsville softball drops Game One 8-2 to Brewer in state semifinals

ATHENS, Texas (KETK) — The Hallsville Ladycats are looking to get back to the softball state championship for the 2nd year in a row, but first they would have to contend with the Brewer Lady Bears in the 5A Division state semifinals.

Hallsville softball team falls short of winning state championshipIn Game One, Hallsville trailed 2-0 and was hitless until the 4th inning, when they got a runner on base, and Miller Goswick was able to knock a two-run homer over the fence to tie the game.
However, the Lady Bears would go on to win 8-2, taking Game One of this best-of-three series.
Game Two will be back at Athens High School on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. with Game Three to start afterward, if necessary.
