Massive Rico Outweighs Usyk By 25 Pounds In Egypt!
· Yahoo Sports
Rico Verhoeven will be taking on one of his toughest challenges ever in combat sports when he battles the current Heavyweight king of boxing, Oleksandr Usyk, tomorrow (Sat., May 23, 2026) for his WBC title in front of the Pyramids of Giza in Cairo, Egypt, but he will be the taller and heavier man when they meet on DAZN pay-per-view (PPV).
The two men weighed in earlier today (May 22) for the historical bout and Usyk tipped the scales at 233.3 pounds (replay here), while the challenger and former world kickboxing champion, Verhoeven, came in over 25 pounds heavier at 258.7 pounds. That said, height and weight disadvantages have never bothered the world champion, as Tyson Fury outweighed him by 50 pound in the rematch, and was also six inches taller. Usyk went on to defeat Fury a second time via unanimous decision.
