Lebanon girls basketball star Khalia Thompson transfers to ECC rival

Another underclass star in the Cincinnati girls high school basketball scene is on the move this summer.

Khalia Thompson, who averaged 18.7 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.9 steals and 2.1 assists as a freshman at Lebanon, has announced that she is enrolling at Winton Woods.

Thompson was a must-watch player during the 2025-2026 season and was named one of The Enquirer's top 15 freshmen in the city. Her scoring average was second in the Eastern Cincinnati Conference (behind West Clermont freshman Bella Swisshelm) and she scored a school record 42 points in a Jan. 15 win over Anderson.

She was named to the ECC first team, the All-Southwest District second team and an All-Ohio honorable mention. She currently holds college offers from Cincinnati and Dayton.

Lebanon went 5-18 last season, including a 3-15 mark in conference play, and lost to Lakota West in the Division I district semifinals.

With Thompson teaming up with Strawberry Blankumsee and Trenity Armstong, the Warriors now boast one of the top back courts in the city. They have a trio of electric guards that can score, distribute the ball and wreak havoc on defense, but must replace sisters Sydney and Whitley Davis in the post.

After winning an undefeated Division II state title in 2025, the Warriors went 18-7 last year and bowed out to Seton in a DII regional semifinal. The ECC will arguably be the top conference in the city as Winton Woods looks for its fourth league title in the last six years, and West Clermont, Milford, Walnut Hills and Loveland should remain in the top half of the standings.
