According to a report from Bild, Undav (29) signed his new contract on Sunday, which will see Germany’s leading goalscorer this season earn a base salary of just over €5.5m per season, in addition to a €4m signing bonus.
Stuttgart sent Undav’s representatives a written offer on Thursday evening, which didn’t meet their expectations and, therefore, several rounds of negotiations took place on Friday, which focused on two key points. Per Bild, the Swabians increased their signing bonus by €1m while Undav will sign a contract until 2029 but will see his contract automatically extended by a further year until 2030 should he play 20 or more games in 2028/29.
With his previous deal set to expire in 2027, all parties reached an agreement prior to Undav scoring a brace in Germany’s victory over Finland on Sunday night. Having struck 25 goals in 46 appearances across all competitions, the former Brighton man enjoyed his best goalscoring season yet, helping Stuttgart secure a place in next season’s UEFA Champions League.
