The Barnett family got great news over the weekend as George's son, James Barnett, picked up his first collegiate offer from Miami (Ohio). A 6-foot-2, 270-pound interior offensive lineman out of Iowa City West in the 2028 class, James Barnett also placed second in state shot put in Class 4A last month.

As he keeps developing, James Barnett could pick up an Iowa offer down the line. James Barnett will continue to get plenty of looks from other Division I programs as his recruitment continues.
Meanwhile, Iowa will need to replace a trio of NFL draft picks up front in Logan Jones, Gennings Dunker and Beau Stephens. George Barnett has proven that he's more than up to the task of shaping one of the Big Ten and nation's top offensive line units.
