Pleasant Plains girls’ soccer cruises to state semifinal win

· Yahoo Sports

NAPERVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) – Pleasant Plains girls’ soccer is just one win away from a state title, after a lopsided victory on Thursday.

The Cardinals, yet to lose on the 2026 season, met another undefeated foe but seemed to have little issues. Pleasant Plains beat Johnsburg 5-1 in the IHSA 1A state semifinal game.

Bailey Leach scored two goals in the win.

Now, Pleasant Plains will look to complete its near-perfect season by hoisting a state championship trophy on Saturday. The Cardinals will play Glen Carbon-Father McGivney at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday for the 1A title match.

The championship game, just like the semifinal contest, will be played on the campus of North Central College in Naperville.
