A German dossier on the prime suspect in the kidnapping and presumed murder of British tot Madeleine McCann reportedly holds bombshell new evidence.
According to The UK Sun , sources in Germany said the files were given to British detectives.
The evidence zeroes in on Christian Brueckner , a 49-year-old German pedophile, and includes photos and other information. Now sporting a new beard, Brueckner is living in a shipping container in Kiel.
Brueckner has long been the prime suspect in the disappearance of Maddie who vanished from her parents Portuguese villa in 2007. However, it is understood that bringing him to trial in the UK remains a “long way off.”
While it is widely suspected that Maddie is now deceased, her disappearance remains a missing persons case. There has been no evidence that she is alive.
Likely Maddie is dead
Experts say that extraditing the vile Brueckner would require the investigation to be upgraded to a homicide probe. German cops have long believed that physical evidence linked to the convicted child molester points to the probability that Maddie is, in fact, dead.
Among the evidence in the files is reportedly a hard drive with photo files from Portugal at the time Maddie disappeared. German detectives have zeroed in on the photo files.
“These developments are huge — it shows the Met’s interest in Brueckner is real. They are after him — like the Germans,” a source told the tabloid.
Here is what the files are said to include:
• Photos showing Brueckner naked at one of the key locations in the Maddie probe.
• Images that have contributed to suspicions that Maddie is dead.
• Twisted child abduction stories authored by Brueckner where he daydreams about kidnapping and sexually abusing girls.
• A sordid glimpse into pedophile chatrooms where Brueckner allegedly boasts of his desperate desire to “take something small and use it for days.”
The suspect was released from a German prison last September after serving a seven-year sentence for the 2005 rape of an American woman in Portugal. He faces more prison time over verbally abusing a guard while in stir.
In addition to the disappearance of Maddie, Brueckner is also on police radar across Europe for the disappearances and murders of children in a number of countries.
“Our investigation into Madeleine’s disappearance has been active since 2011,” Metropolitan Police said on Sunday night.
“We remain in close discussion with policing colleagues in Germany and Portugal. We will continue to pursue any viable lines of enquiry.”
