Brendan Sorsby's lawsuit will be dismissed tomorrow, setting the stage for NFL eligibility
· Yahoo Sports
In the end, quarterback Brendan Sorsby will never play for Texas Tech.
Via NFL Network, Sorsby on Tuesday will dismiss the lawsuit in Lubbock County, Texas that gave him a temporary injunction restoring his NCAA eligibility for 2026. This will wipe out his eligibility for play for Texas Tech, making him eligible to enter the NFL supplemental draft.

It's an important step. If he's still eligible to play college football, the NFL would have been able to easily say he's not eligible to enter the supplemental draft.
That doesn't mean he'll gain easy entrance to the NFL via the supplemental draft. The Terrelle Pryor precedent from 2011 shows that the league is willing and able to create a sanction to mirror NCAA punishment.
And it would be very easy for the NFL, if it chooses, to declare that Sorsby's pattern of underage gambling and gambling on his team creates a threat to the integrity of the game — even if he has never violated a single NFL policy.
So this isn't the end of the road for Sorsby. In some ways, it's only the beginning.
