“All the Intangibles”: John Calipari Makes Strong Case for Trevon Brazile at NBA Draft
· Yahoo Sports
John Calipari is going all out trying to get the best deal for his Arkansas players at the NBA draft, and with just days to go before teams have their picks ready, he has made a strong case for Trevon Brazile.
While Brazile won’t be coming into the NBA draft with the same hype and pomp that his former teammate Darius Acuff Jr. will bring, he has his own strengths that make him a strong pick for NBA teams, and John Calipari certainly wasn’t afraid to list them out.

“6’10”. Head on the rim above the square, blocking shots. Flying. How about being able to make a three‑point shot? All the intangibles that they’re looking for in the league,” Calipari said.
“Being positionless. Being able to guard multiple positions. Being able to switch. I love coaching him, and I’m telling you: his ceiling—where he’s going to go—I’m going to say it again: 40‑inch jump. Flies up and down the court. He’s 6’10” with skill. Someone’s going to get a heck of a player.”
Coach Calipari has been praising other Arkansas players at the NBA draft too, naming Darius Acuff Jr. and Meleek Thomas as rookies that teams would definitely regret not picking at the draft.
Where Can Trevon Brazile End Up at the NBA Draft?
While John Calipari is pushing for NBA teams to look at Trevon Brazile as a realistic option, it seems unlikely that he would be a first-round pick in this year’s draft.
An early second-round pick might be a fair shout for Brazile, while some mocks have him going a bit further down around 46th place.
Brazile’s strengths lie in his ability to be an explosive rim runner, and would be great for NBA teams that like to break quickly. His 6-foot-10 inch frame will also help him at the highest level, making him a lucrative pick if someone takes a chance on him.
