Bengals' DJ Turner getting national love as budding breakout star
· Yahoo Sports
Cincinnati Bengals cornerback DJ Turner showed up to offseason work and made a point to avoid any contract drama with the team.
Team and fans alike loved the gesture, no doubt, from a borderline elite boundary cornerback who still appears on the ascent as a player.

Now, Turner’s starting to catch fire nationally.
NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe, for example, listed Turner as one of the three players who could jump to superstardom next season.
“He’s got a really good position coach in Charlie Burke who wants him to evolve into the elite, top five corners in football,” Wolfe said. “He’s got to elevate that defense with him. He’s got to change how we talk about the Bengals defense.”
That potential for Turner to keep on climbing is what might make contract talks between his reps and the Bengals a little tricky.
Even so, the Bengals haven’t had an elite boundary corner in a long time. And since they’re all-in and serious about providing Joe Burrow with a capable defense, locking down a premium asset the majority of the league would love to have is a smart idea.
No matter how it shakes out, Bengals fans probably won’t complain about a future star getting this much national love before training camp even starts.
