During the virtual hearing, the charges against Arnold were clarified. According to the court proceedings, the 23 year old cornerback now faces eight felony counts, including three counts of armed robbery, three counts of kidnapping, one count of conspiracy to commit kidnapping, and one count of conspiracy to commit armed robbery.

Judge J. Logan Murphy ordered Arnold to be held without bond until a pretrial detention hearing scheduled for Monday, June 29, at 9:30 a.m. ET.

“Mr. Arnold, because you’ve been arrested on six dangerous crimes… first-degree felonies categorized as dangerous crimes and punishable by life in prison, you are going to be held at no bond on those charges until we can have a hearing on the state’s motion for pretrial detention,” Murphy said as quoted by Pride of Detroit.

Arnold continues to deny the allegations.

His attorney, R. Timothy Jansen, told the court that Arnold maintains his innocence and requested a bond hearing as quickly as possible.

“He’s absolutely denying these allegations, and we’re asking to have a bond hearing as soon as possible,” Jansen said.

According to Arnold’s legal team, prosecutors are relying heavily on testimony from two individuals who were also charged in connection with the case and later entered plea agreements. Defense attorneys asked the court to provide copies of that testimony before Monday’s hearing, but the request was denied.

Judge Murphy ruled that the defense is not entitled to discovery before the pretrial detention hearing, leaving the matter to be addressed by the judge presiding over Monday’s proceedings if necessary.

The latest hearing marks another significant development in a case that has drawn widespread attention throughout the NFL. The Detroit Lions previously acknowledged they are aware of the legal situation but declined further comment while the judicial process is ongoing. Arnold has also released a statement through his representatives, categorically denying the allegations and expressing confidence that he will ultimately be vindicated.

Monday’s hearing is expected to determine whether Arnold will remain in custody or be granted bond as the case moves forward.
