The Golden State Warriors are certainly in a position where they need to get better on both sides of the basketball, though it might not be as easy as just saying the Warriors need to improve.

The Warriors have some assets, but they're definitely not as well equipped as some other teams around the association to go out and make a blockbuster move. With the interest that we already know about regarding Trey Murphy, that makes making a deal for the young New Orleans Pelicans star rather difficult.
Regarding the asking price for Murphy, it doesn't sound like the Warriors have enough to get a deal done, at least according to the latest report.
“New Orleans, however, does continue to receive significant external trade interest in Murphy and Herb Jones, although league sources say that the Pels have also continued to maintain high thresholds for both players. In each case, sources say, New Orleans is asking for multiple first-round draft picks to part with them,” Jake Fischer wrote.
I never want to say that it's impossible for a deal to go down in the NBA, as we've seen some crazy things happen.
However, if other teams are interested in Murphy, it's definitely only fair to suggest that others will have better packages. That's unfortunately something the Warriors have to deal with.
