It marked a significant win on the recruiting trail for the Buckeyes as they were in contention with Ole Miss, which has been trying to keep Moss in his home state. He was in Oxford last weekend for an official visit following one to Ohio State.
Moss announced his commitment on Instagram Live on June 26 after reaching a decision earlier this week. The other finalists were Kentucky, Louisiana State, Oregon and Tennessee.
Moss gives the Buckeyes two top-100 offensive line prospects in their 2027 high school class, joining Liberty Center’s Kellen Wymer who made his pledge in November.
Moss is the No. 72 overall prospect and No. 7 offensive tackle in the class for 2027, according to composite rankings from 247Sports. He projects as a tackle due to his 6-foot-5, 320-pound frame.
If the Buckeyes keep Moss in the class through December, when they can begin signing players during the early signing period, it would be a notable feat.
The Buckeyes have not signed a top-100 offensive lineman from outside Ohio since Donovan Jackson, who grew up in a suburb of Houston before enrolling at Ohio State in 2021.
