Incoming Penn State hockey goaltender Ryder Fetterolf was drafted 125th overall by the Stanley Cup champion Carolina Hurricanes in the 2026 NHL Draft:

Fetterolf is undersized for a goaltender but uses his athleticism and quick reflexes to make up for it. He was named the OHL Goalie of the Year in 2025-26 with a .923 save percentage and 2.07 GAA in 41 starts. Most projections had him as a middle round pick. Fetterolf will join Penn State for the 2026-27 season, giving the Nittany Lions an excellent 1-2 punch in net with starter Josh Fleming returning. Four Penn State recruits have been drafted through the first four rounds of the NHL Draft, a reflection of the program’s growth over the last 15 years.

Congratulations Ryder and good luck!
