The U.S. Men's National Team defeated Bosnia and Herzegovina on Wednesday, July 1, 2-0 to advance to the Round of 16, where they'll face Belgium on Monday, July 6, in Seattle.

The game remained scoreless for the first 45 minutes, until Folarin Balogun scored the first goal of the match. Malik Tillman scored scored a second goal via free kick 82 minutes into the match to secure the victory at San Francisco Bay Area Stadium.

Tillman's goal came when the USMNT was down to just 10 men. Balogun also received a red card during the game, which means he will miss the round of 16 game, notes Fox Sports.

The U.S. has put up statement wins during the tournament on home soil. The team won their first match in the group play stage on June 12 against Paraguay, 4-1. They topped Australia the following week, 2-0, and took the Group D crown.

The U.S. closed out group play with a 3-2 loss to Turkey on June 25.

Concerns around U.S. star Christian Pulisic swirled early in the tournament after he sustained an injury against Paraguay. The 27-year-old sat out of the match against Australia but rejoined the team for their group play finale against Turkey.

The U.S. last advanced to the Round of 16 in 2022 in Qatar, but ultimately lost to the Netherlands, 3-1.
