LARCHWOOD, I.A. (KELO) — The West Lyon Wildcats baseball team’s magical season continued on Wednesday night with the final game of the regular season, a 6-1 win over Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley.
The Wildcats threatened in the bottom of the third with the bases loaded but a diving catch by B-H/RV left fielder Tyce Van Beek kept things scoreless.

In the top of the fourth the Nighthawks got on the board by way of a two-out RBI single, but West Lyon responded with three in the bottom half, including a two RBI triple from River Kramer that proved to be the game-winning hit.
West Lyon is the top seed in their substate bracket and as such, earned a bye into next week. They will take on the winners of the Central Lyon and Spirit Lake game set for Friday, next Tuesday night at home. First pitch is set for 7:00 p.m.
