Cam Boozer, Cedric Coward headline Grizzlies summer league roster

The Memphis Grizzlies have unveiled their 2026 NBA Summer League roster.

The first thing that stands out is the number of familiar faces. Eight players who appeared for Memphis during the 2025-26 season are on the roster, giving the team an experienced core alongside its newest draft picks.

First-round NBA draft selections Cam Boozer and Karim Lopez highlight the rookie class. Second-round pick Richie Saunders will not participate as he continues recovering from the torn ACL he suffered at BYU in February.

Grizzlies assistant coach Erik Schmidt will lead the roster. Current coach Tuomas Iisalo served in this role during the previous two summer league appearances.

On paper, the Grizzlies appear to have one of the deepest summer league rosters in the NBA.

Wing Cedric Coward will play in the summer league after earning first-team All-Rookie honors. The 2025 first-round pick did not play in summer league last year while recovering from a shoulder injury, making this his first opportunity to suit up in the event.

Second-year point guard Javon Small also returns after an impressive, though injury-shortened, rookie season. Fellow guard Walter Clayton Jr. will have another opportunity to show why he was selected in the first round of the 2025 NBA Draft.

The roster also features several recognizable names who could compete for training camp invitations or larger roles heading into the regular season. Lawson Lovering played two games at center with the Grizzlies last season while on a 10-day contract. Former Michigan State big man and undrafted addition Carson Cooper should also have a role in the frontcourt

Memphis opens summer league play in Salt Lake City before traveling to Las Vegas. The Grizzlies begin their Las Vegas schedule on July 10 against the Chicago Bulls, who selected No. 4 overall pick Caleb Wilson in the 2026 NBA Draft.
