Over the next few weeks ahead of training camp, I will continue to break down the depth chart for each Chargers position.

Next, I project what the linebacker room will look like heading into the 2026 season.
Daiyan Henley
Following a resilient 2025 season in which he persevered through off-field adversity to lead the team with 103 tackles, 3.5 sacks, and two interceptions, Henley enters Year 4 as the undisputed centerpiece in the middle of the defense.
Denzel Perryman
The Chargers brought back Perryman on a one-year deal. He battled injuries in 2025 that limited him to 10 games, but his tone-setting run defense and locker-room presence remain indispensable.
Troy Dye
Dye stepped up in a major way last year, logging seven starts when Perryman missed time. Moving into 2026, he is expected to split defensive series with Perryman while continuing his extensive contributions across multiple special teams units.
Del'Shawn Phillips
The Chargers made keeping Phillips a priority this offseason, rewarding him with a two-year, $7.5 million extension. Phillips is fresh off a spectacular Second-Team All-Pro campaign, where he finished tied for the league lead in special teams tackles.
Marlowe Wax
A former undrafted free agent, Wax secured a spot on the active roster last season, primarily flashing his talents across 73% of the team's special teams snaps. He makes the cut once again due to his special teams prowess.
