The Los Angeles Rams are going all-in for the 2026 NFL season, evidenced by their blockbuster trades for Trent McDuffie and Myles Garrett.

But the Rams do still have a hole on the roster that needs to be addressed. After drafting Ty Simpson at No. 13 overall in the 2026 NFL Draft, the Rams failed to find a solution to their third wide receiver spot.
Brad Gagnon of Bleacher Report is predicting that the Rams will sign a free agent to fill that role in former Washington Commanders and San Francisco 49ers Pro Bowl WR Deebo Samuel in a move that would actually make perfect sense for the Rams.
Rams predicted to sign Deebo Samuel in move that'd make perfect sense
"The Rams add Deebo Samuel," Gagnon predicts. "The Rams saw a lot of Samuel during his six-year run in the NFC West. I wouldn't be shocked if they were to find a way to bring in the 30-year-old former star on a one-year contract."
Gagnon is predicting the Rams to sign Samuel to join Puka Nacua and Davante Adams in the wide receiver room as a good third option.
Adding Samuel, who just had 727 yards and five touchdowns on 72 receptions for the Commanders in 2025, would make perfect sense for the Rams.
He likely won't cost a lot on a one-year deal, as the 30-year-old receiver isn't the Pro Bowl and All-Pro WR he once was with the 49ers back in 2021.
But, he is still a solid option, and as a third WR behind Adams and Nacua, he'd be a great complement and depth piece who could be trusted in key spots for the Rams this upcoming season.

Looking over the Rams' current depth chart, their best option for the No. 3 WR right now is Jordan Whittington, Konata Mumpfield, Xavier Smith, and CJ Daniels.
They might be decent depth options, but if Nacua or Adams were to miss any time, the Rams would be in big trouble. That's why adding Samuel would make perfect sense for the Rams.
This prediction from Gagnon is not a surprising one, and it might be what ends up happening during training camp as the Rams get the team up to speed for the 2026 season.
The Rams are trying to win a Super Bowl, and a third WR seems like the most obvious need left on this team. It would be no surprise if they added Samuel, and this fit makes perfect sense for both the team and the player.
