REPORTS: PSG Set to Sign World Cup Striker From La Liga

· Yahoo Sports

Although there is a lot of focus on this summer's FIFA World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico, there is still an important transfer window underway for PSG

Now, you may be thinking 'Well, every transfer window is important', and whilst that is true, this one still feels more important than others. For example, last summer just felt like continuation of the previous year.

Considering 25/26 was nearly just as successful, with the Coupe de France basically the only difference (and perhaps a tougher Ligue 1 season), it feels like there will be a lot of turnover this summer.

For example, Kang-in Lee is about to join Atletico Madrid, likewise Goncalo Ramos to AC Milan. Meanwhile, Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye continue to be linked with a move from the French capital.

So, it is clear that incomings are needed. Well, we have a pretty good idea of who one signing will be. Indeed so, as it is being heavily reported that PSG are close to signing Spanish forward Ferran Torres of FC Barcelona.

To begin, Sky Sport report that PSG have agreed personal terms in principle with Torres. They state that he wants to join, with an extension at Barcelona viewed as "very difficult" (he only has one year remaining).

Meanwhile, Fabrizio Romano reports that the player is on the list of Ramos replacements, and is seen as a "versatile back up". Djamel reports that Luis Enrique appreciates Torres' profile. The two worked together when Enrique was manager of the Spain national team. He also states that Eli Kroup of AFC Bournemouth ranks higher in the club's shortlist, but the Cherries' value of him is too high.

Elsewhere, Ferran Martinez reports that the two clubs are in "advanced talks, with the relationship between Barcelona and PSG described as "excellent". Finally, Sport are reporting that a deal could be concluded for around 45 million Euros.

So, there you go, all of the high level reports on personal terms and/or negotiations between the clubs on Torres. Let's see what happens, but this does feel like a sensible move. A player who can play all across the front three, and a player who has played for Enrique in the past. Someone with Pep Guardiola education too.

Even with just a year left on his contract, 45 million Euros feels pretty sensible, when you consider how much some players go for in today's market.
