Given how this season began, it's safe to say that was certainly an improbable place to expect the Red Sox to wake up on July 18.

But on Friday, July 17, they swept the Tampa Bay Rays in a doubleheader.

They won 10-0 for their 10th win in a row, then took the nightcap 5-3 as Wilyer Abreu homered twice and Willson Contreras went deep in his first game back from suspension.

It's 11 wins in a row for Boston.

They were 37-48.

They're now 48-48.

That's a turnaround that has literally never happened before in the history of Major League Baseball.

OptaStats shared that going from 10 or more games under .500 to .500 with a single winning streak hadn't been done until these Red Sox did it:

It hasn't been just one hero for Boston, either.

The starting pitching has pretty much been on point. The bats up and down the lineup have done well. The bullpen has done their job.

Vibes are incredibly high, including in the postgame celebratory circle between outfielders Abreu, Jarren Duran and Ceddanne Rafaela -- they got to do it twice on Friday.

The Red Sox took a nine game winning streak into the All-Star Break, and time off didn't slow them down at all.

At this point, they're a freight train going downhill. Look out.
