Future LSU gymnast Reese Esponda won the all-around and floor titles at the 2026 U.S. Classic Saturday in Hartford. The future LSU star finished with a 54.900 AA score to beat two-time Olympian Jade Carey, who had a 54.050. Future Tiger and American Classic AA champion Tatum Drusch finished 12th in the AA with a 50.150.

Esponda led things off with a 13.050 (5.4 D, 7.650 E) on the bars before heating up in the last three events. Her 13.750 (5.5 D, 8.250 E) on beam was good enough to place third. Her 13.950 (6.0 D, 7.950 E) on floor won her the floor title with ease as the second place finishers each scored 13.300s. Esponda clinched the title on vault with a 14.150 (5.0 D, 9.150 E) on her Yurchenko Double with a score that finished second behind Jade Carey.

Drusch started well with a 13.350 (5.4 D, 7.950 E) on bars, but she struggled to a 9.900 (5.0 D, 4.900 E) on beam which hurt her score tremendously. She scored a 13.150 (5.0 D, 8.150 E) on floor and rounded out the night with a 13.750 (4.6 D, 9.150 E) on her Yurchenko 1.5 vault.

Both gymnasts are expected to compete at the 2026 Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships in August in Phoenix. More details will come as time progresses.
