Turns out Mac ain’t so mystic after all.

In yet another failed prediction, former UFC champion Conor McGregor incorrectly guessed the outcome of the World Cup final between Argentina and Spain; only this time, it cost him $100,000. That’s not a lot of money when you consider the millions he bankrolled for his 69-second loss at UFC 329 earlier this month in Las Vegas and it’s possible he was playing with house money in exchange for advertising.

Spain defeated Argentina by a score of 1-0.

“And the winner is … Christ!” McGregor later wrote on X. Promoting Christianity and gambling at the same time is causing more than a few arguments in the comment section of McGregor’s tweet, which may have been the point when you consider that social media lives and dies on engagement.

As for McGregor’s fighting career, that remains on hold until he’s recovered from knee surgery. “Notorious” tore his ACL and meniscus with a pair of jumping kicks that did zero damage to opponent Max Holloway and 100-percent damage to McGregor.
