The Miami Heat have arguably had the best offseason of any team in the NBA, and that's because they got the best player available in Giannis Antetokounmpo. Making a blockbuster trade for arguably the best player in the world was a very smart decision for the Heat, but that also doesn't mean that they don't need others.

Right now, the Heat are a decent team on paper, but far from very good. That's a problem within itself, and something that could change if they added LeBron James.
At the moment, the focus is on landing James, but according to the latest report, the Heat are also interested in DeMar DeRozan, even if they land James.
“Expect the Heat, with Giannis Antetokounmpo in tow, to stay aggressive if they wind up winning the LeBron-a-Thon, with DeMar DeRozan also in their sights. The Heat are hard-capped at the first apron, but they have about $10 million to add two players and get to 14 for the upcoming season. They have been pursuing deals for Nikola Jovic, but he is a tough sell and the Heat do not want to attach their 2029 first-rounder, the only tradeable first-rounder they have, to move him. Miami only has one second-round pick to trade,” Sean Deveney of Heavy wrote.
Whether the Heat end up winning the James sweepstakes or not, I really don't see the appeal in signing DeRozan. DeRozan is still a nice little player in his own right, but his fit with Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo just doesn't really make much sense to me.
