Tyler Reddick is ready for a much-needed reset with NASCAR's final off-weekend following Indianapolis Motor Speedway. With four races left in the 2026 Cup Series regular season, Reddick sits 84 points behind Denny Hamlin for the No. 1 seed. It has been a shocking development, as the 23XI Racing driver had an over 100-point lead earlier in the year.

A poor summer has taken Reddick out of the points lead and into a position where he could enter the Chase as low as the No. 4 seed, realistically. Over the last eight races, Reddick has five finishes of 25th place or worse. The driver of the No. 45 car also hasn't won since Kansas Speedway in the spring.
Reddick hasn't earned a top-5 finish since Pocono Raceway in mid-June, as the No. 45 team has struggled to finish races. What once looked like an insurmountable lead has dropped to an 84-point deficit. Reddick needs a rest, and it has come at the perfect time.
