ISU men's hoops to open Paradise Jam against Stephen F. Austin

Indiana State's tropical journey to the Paradise Jam multi-team event in the upcoming 2026-27 college basketball season will begin with an opening-day matchup against Stephen F. Austin on Nov. 20.

ISU's side of the eight-team event's bracket also includes Middle Tennessee State and Temple. The tourney runs from Nov. 20-23 at St. Thomas island in the U.S. Virgin Islands. The remainder of the field in the open-bracketed event consists of Utah Valley, East Carolina, UT Martin and Missouri Valley Conference foe Southern Illinois.
Coach Matthew Graves' Sycamore men's team will face Stephen F. Austin at 4 p.m. Nov. 20. ISU would face either Middle Tennessee or Temple on Nov. 21 or Nov. 22, depending on the outcome of those two teams' opening-game matchup. The championship and consolation finals are set for Nov. 23.
The Sycamores have played Middle Tennessee four times, with the most recent game coming in 2006. The series between ISU and MTSU is deadlocked at 2-2. Should the Sycamores meet Temple, it'll be the first matchup between the those programs.
Last year against SIU, the Sycamores finished 0-2 with an 80-65 loss at home on Feb. 9 and then a 66-55 loss at SIU on Feb. 25.
