Terry Glenn, a member of the Tennessee men's basketball team that ended a 36-year SEC tournament title drought in 1979 and made the first of five straight NCAA tournament appearances, died on July 16. He was 70.
"He was always super, super competitive. Nice guy and a good ballplayer," said Bert Bertelkamp, former Vols basketball radio analyst and a member of the 1979 team. "He fit right in right off the bat and he was a good teammate and just a heck of a nice guy."

A native of Charleston, South Carolina, Glenn earned his associate's degree in Fine Arts from Morristown College in 1977 and transferred to Tennessee in 1978. As talented player as he was, Glenn only played for one season with the Vols, but made an unforgettable impact as a scout team point guard.
Bertelkamp remembers how Glenn would use quickness and confident shooting to give his teammates "hell in practice" despite standing only 5-foot-10. He was instrumental in sharpening the man-to-man defense that served as the Vols' calling card during the 1978-79 season.
"His nickname was 'Money,' " Bertelkamp said. "He would take a shot and he would say 'Money!' as the ball was in the air. Everybody got a kick out of that so everybody started calling him 'Money.' "
"Money" became one of Bertelkamp's iconic refrains when he called Vols basketball on the radio for 27 years.
"I said 'Money' with with a guy making a long 3-pointer," he said. "It started with Chris Lofton but I gave (Glenn) credit for that."
Glenn appeared in 11 games, including an NCAA Tournament loss to No. 1 seed Notre Dame, during his lone season. The Vols finished second in the SEC regular season standings. They won two games, including a 75-69 overtime victory over Kentucky in the SEC championship game at BJCC Coliseum in Birmingham, Alabama.
When his playing days were over, Glenn made his life in Knoxville.
A celebration of life service was held on July 24 at Bethel AME Church in Knoxville, where Glenn served as a member of the board of trustees.
