CLEVELAND — As the Mets descend on Cleveland for their first games following Monday's trade deadline, the team's 26-man roster will look vastly different.

But most of those moves came on the pitching side, with six of the seven players dealt in the last week coming on the pitching staff. Tyrone Taylor was the lone position player dealt by the Mets at the deadline.

That means fans can expect a largely familiar lineup when the Mets open a three-game series against the Guardians at 6:40 p.m. on Tuesday at Progressive Field.

For the Mets to have any degree of success down the stretch, it will need to start with their offense after four of their top five relievers were dealt at the deadline. The Mets are currently ranked 26th in team batting average and 27th in runs. They enter the series matching their worst line of the season, at 19 games under .500 at 47-66.

The Guardians enter Tuesday with a 57-56 record and holding on to the final AL Wild Card spot. They received right-hander Foster Griffin, outfielder Jo Adell and first baseman Nathaniel Lowe at the deadline.

NY Mets, Guardians probable starting pitchers for Tuesday

The Mets will be avoiding the top of the Guardians rotation as the series begins with their No. 3 starter, left-hander Joey Cantillo.

The 26-year-old has had a strong campaign, amassing an 8-6 record with a 3.88 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 124 strikeouts in 113⅔ innings.

Sean Manaea will be making his 10th start of the season for the Mets. The left-hander has a 2-5 record, 4.42 ERA and 1.34 WHIP in 23 appearances this season. He capped a decent month of July with a quality start against the Braves, holding the NL East leaders to two earned runs on five hits and two walks with four strikeouts over six innings.

Manaea had a 3.77 ERA in five starts in July.
