Brandon Cisse making the most of early opportunities in Packers camp
· Yahoo Sports
I think it’s pretty obvious that the Packers drafted Brandon Cisse expecting him to compete for playing time sooner rather than later. And just a couple of weeks into training camp, he’s already getting that chance.

Carrington Valentine has been sidelined with a hamstring injury, forcing Green Bay to shuffle its cornerback rotation and creating additional first-team reps for Cisse. The second-round rookie hasn’t looked out of place.
SI’s Bill Huber reports that Cisse has been one of Green Bay’s more encouraging first-year performers, highlighting a steady climb up the depth chart throughout camp. He hasn’t simply flashed athletic traits, he’s been around the football and continued to earn opportunities with the starters. Our own Justis Mosqueda also noted Cisse as getting plenty of looks with the ones.
Camp stories don’t always translate to the regular season, but the truth is the Packers have questions at cornerback. Keisean Nixon remains locked in as a veteran leader, but several jobs behind him are up in the air. If Cisse keeps stacking success, it may not be long before Green Bay trusts him with meaningful game snaps.
To be clear, cornerback is one of the NFL’s toughest positions, and consistency usually comes with experience. TL;DR: there will be growing pains. But so far, Cisse seems to be doing exactly what the Packers hoped for through the opening stretch of camp.
