After an athletic catch where Benge slid backward into the wall to rob Ronny Simon of extra bases, he lingered on the ground and showed clear discomfort.
Benge, who initially stayed in the game, was replaced in left field by Cristian Pache before the bottom of the fourth inning. The Mets announced that Benge was lifted with left wrist soreness.
