The Paradise Valley native is entering his freshman season with the Fighting Irish and is aiming to follow in his father's footsteps as a dominant receiver. During a playoff game against Chandler High School, the young phenom accumulated 14 receptions for 253 yards (a single-game school record) and a school-record-tying four touchdowns.
While comparing him to his father may be a tough task, his career has certainly been fruitful thus far.

Who is Larry Fitzgerald's son?
Devin Fitzgerald is a freshman receiver who committed to join the University of Notre Dame on July 5, 2025, according to his ESPN recruiting page. Heading into collegiate football, Fitzgerald committed as a three-star wide receiver from Brophy Prep in Phoenix, Ariz.
Fitzgerald was the second-ranked recruit in the state and the 28th-ranked wide receiver overall by 247Sports Composite, per his Notre Dame athletics page. He currently holds the Brophy College Prep record for receiving yards in a game (253 yards), along with other mentions across the school's record books.
In his high school career, Fitzgerald posted 149 catches for 2,125 yards and 26 touchdowns, which tied the Brophy school record for catches and ranked second for career yards and touchdowns. His senior campaign was capped with 82 passes for 1,230 yards (15.0 YPC) and 15 TD in 12 games.
He is the oldest among his siblings and is the first of three children. Apollo and Milos also share the Fitzgerald name with the family's other two sons.

Why did Devin Fitzgerald choose Notre Dame?
Despite having a plethora of offers, including Clemson and UCLA, Fitzgerald chose the Fighting Irish, as he joins the crowded field of Notre Dame's Class of 2026 recruits.
According to ESPN, Fitzgerald told them that the Irish were consistent in his recruitment since his freshman year. It did take a while for Notre Dame to offer a scholarship, but their offer was on the table since May 2025, two months before he made his decision.
The Fighting Irish's wide receivers coach, Mike Brown, led the charge in recruiting the son of an NFL all-time great. Brown also played in the NFL from 2012 to 2015, and Fitzgerald is hoping to learn from Notre Dame's stellar program.
"I've developed into a better ballplayer, and they really think I'm going to turn into a great player," Fitzgerald told ESPN. "I've known Coach Brown since I was 5 years old. He's shown me that I can come in, step up and play early. That's their plan with me."

Where did Larry Fitzgerald go to college?
Fitzgerald attended the University of Pittsburgh and played two seasons of Big East football, the conference Pitt was a member of at the time. In the present day, the Panthers play in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC).
He was a thousand-yard receiver in both seasons he played, finishing with 12 or more touchdowns in each campaign.
