Bucks rookie Brayden Burries to wear new jersey number in the NBA

After wearing the same jersey number in high school and college, rookie Brayden Burries will have a new number as he begins his NBA career with the Milwaukee Bucks.
Burries sported No. 5 at Riverside Polytechnic High School and Eleanor Roosevelt High School in California. He kept that number for last season as a freshman at Arizona, helping the Wildcats to the Final Four for the first time since 2001.

With No. 5 currently occupied by Gary Trent Jr., Burries will wear No. 0 with the Bucks. He will be the eighth player in franchise history to wear it, and the first since Damian Lillard.

Burries was the 10th overall pick in the draft after averaging 16.1 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.5 steals in 39 games. He registered 14 20-point performances, including a season-high 31 points and seven rebounds in a win over Colorado on March 7.
The 6-foot-4 Burries debuted with the Bucks in summer league, averaging 23.5 points, four rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.6 steals in five games. He was named to the NBA All-Summer League first team after registering three 20-point performances.
Burries enters next season as a foundational piece for the Bucks after the departure of Giannis Antetokounmpo. The team was ecstatic to draft him and is eager to watch his upcoming rookie campaign.
